Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu (TÜİK) verilerine göre, ülkede tek başına yaşayan bireylerin sayısı 2023 itibarıyla 5 milyon 192 bin 825’e ulaştı. Son 10 yılda yalnız yaşayanların oranı yüzde 77.2 oranında arttı. Bu noktada beslenme alışkanlıkları da olumsuz etkilenmeye başladı.
